Hand Hold Terminal (HHT)

1. Objectives:

i. To bring greater transparency in the ticket checking system.

ii. To provide complete information about vacant berths to the TTE at the next stoppage station of the train in a fair and transparent manner.

iii. There is no requirement to feed EDR into the refund system.

iv. Berths allotted by the TTE to reserved passengers during the journey will also be included in the system; earlier, this data was available only after chart preparation.

2. Long-distance TTEs will use this system to allocate coaches to their team.

3. The TTE will download the chart of the allotted coach through the berth slide installed in the HHT.

4. Wherever seats/berths are sold through PRS, the TTE will also use PRS connectivity to download the current booking list on the Hand Held Terminal (HHT) for allotments made on the platform or online.

5. For every booked passenger, the TTE will perform onboard control using the HHT.

6. After checking the status of each passenger, the TTE, using their own discretion, will be able to allot vacant berths to RAC passengers and assist in allotting berths to wait-listed passengers available on the train.

7. On request from passengers, the TTE will be able to change allotments from one berth to another and from one coach to another.

8. Even after RAC passengers have boarded, if some berths remain vacant, information about such vacant berths will be available on the IRCTC website / call center / PRS terminal at the next station. This information will be transmitted by the TTE only after completion of their checking process.

9. There is no requirement to print the revised chart. The revised chart can be viewed on the HHT device.
